BlogRoom.com was launched as an exploration into the world of wine. I was always interested in learning more about wine, but the resources for those of us who are relatively early on in
the journey seemed to be clouded with too many poetic descriptions and elaborate phrases that meant nothing to me when I read them. It seemed like someone was randomly picking adjectives from the
dictionary and claiming to be breaking new ground. So I thought it would be fun to write reviews myself with the goal of cutting through the clutter to
help me, and the readers of the site, find great wine to try. It’s a subjective process but by taking a straight up approach to reviews, I hope that it helps people
enjoy a good bottle and find wines that work best for their tastes. Or at the very least, compels people to try new wine, which is what this is all about. – Radcliffe, BlogRoom.com Editor
About the Ratings
We are rating wines on the standard 100 point scale. NOTE: Some early entries were marked on a 1 to 20 scale, but that was changed in July 2009 to reflect the more commonly used rating system, based on reader feedback. Where we see a strong value we may boost the score a point or two. The Gold, Silver and Bronze distinctions are for wines that we find to stand out in their class and/or offer spectacular value. And of course, the Value Picks, are just excellent buys.
