BlogRoom.com Tests the Vinturi Wine Aerator

This is a neat little gadget, and as I used it more and more, I figured I'd write a little something up on it.  This is the Vinturi Wine Aerator.  It instantly aerates your wine on the fly as you pour it into the glass, or the decanter if you want to double it up.  I'm not the right person to tell you how it works from a technical standpoint, but quite simply it seems to shoot air through the wine as it is poured through the top and then the aerated wine spins into the glass below.

So does it work?  Well, I've tried it now for a month on various bottles, and have had friends try it for a second opinion, and I'd say the final conclusion (from us non-experts of course) is that it does work, although it's not a complete replacement for air time or a full decanter.  When pouring two glasses, one without using the Vinturi and one using it, we were almost always able to pick out the glass that used the Vinturi.

I guess that about says it.  I use it quite often now, and it comes in a great little holder, so the presentation is nice.

Give it a shot.  See what you think.
