2005 Edna Valley Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon Paso Robles
A nice Cab for the price. I found it on sale for $10.50 and it's usually around $14.00. At $10 it's not a bad deal for what could be a decent everyday table wine. This bottle falls in the bracket with the Powers Cab that I just tried. They are ok wines, a nice representation of the variety at a fair price, but they are easily forgettable since there aren't a lot of unique or interesting characteristics that rise to the forefront. And in this price range you won't find many bottles that offer that.
This bottle from Edna Valley will neither surprise nor disappoint. It's exactly what you're expecting. After a little airtime, it got a touch more enjoyable and smoother through the finish. So in the end, as it stands right now, I'm going to rate this slightly above average but I will add it to my Value Picks as it's a good bottle for the money.
